البروجسترون (بالإنجليزية: Progesterone) هو الهرمون الأنثوي المهم لتنظيم التبويض والحيض ويحول بطانة الرحم التكاثرية إلى بطانة إفرازية.

يثبط البروجسترون، في نطاق الجرعة المعتادة، إفراز الجونادوتروبين من الغدة النخامية، والذي بدوره يمنع نضوج الجريب ويمنع الإباضة. كما أنه يعزز نمو الغدد الثدية، ويعمل على استرخاء العضلات الملساء في بطانة الرحم، وبالتالي يحافظ على الحمل. وعند استخدامه في تقنيات مساعدة الإنجاب في المرحلة الأصفرية فإنه يحفز انغراس الجنين.
